Loesche Mill Loesche mill, patented in 1928

Loesche was founded in 1906 by Curt von Grueber in Berlin and began construction of the first Kent mill under license.

A patent for the Loesche roller grinding mill was issued by the Reichspatentamt in Berlin in 1928.

After expropriation of the business in Berlin, it was re-established in Düsseldorf in 1948.

Over the following six decades, the company developed, patented and introduced many new technologies (see panel opposite).

In 1999 Loesche established a collaborative agreement with Anglo American Research Ltd. (Pty) South Africa with regard to the preparation of minerals and ores.

And then in 2000 held the first global grinding industry conference - "Experience in Dialogue". More than 125 delegates attended the Loesche Symposium in Düsseldorf. Many Loesche customers from around the world came together with to discuss latest grinding technology and learn from each other's experience.

In 2001 Loesche GmbH established its credentials as Global leader in Grinding Expertise, with orders for eleven mills of different types worldwide from Cyprus, India, Taiwan, Croatia, China, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Chile.

Loesche GmbH founded the subsidiary Loesche Energy Systems Ltd (LES) near London in 2006. Bringing together a dedicated team of boiler specialists to compliment the grinding and classification expertise of the Loesche Group, LES is a Centre of Excellence for coal mill application in the power utilities industry and is responsible for Loesche GmbH´s worldwide power plant market.
